Artificial Horizon
Artificial Horizon is a remix collection from U2, released on 14 May 2010 through the band's own U2 Dot Com label. It was made for subscribing members of U2.com, and it took the place of a planned set called Medium, Rare & Remastered. Across electronic and dance-leaning reworkings, it gives the band's songs a different shape from the rock originals.
It follows the same idea as Melon: Remixes for Propaganda, the fan-only release from 1995, and it arrived soon after the band's 2009 album No Line on the Horizon. A triple-vinyl edition was also put out for the general public, and it came with an MP3 of Snow Patrol's remix of "Unknown Caller". For fans who like hearing U2 songs pulled apart and rebuilt, it is a curious side door into their catalogue.
