Live at the Zoom Club
Live at the Zoom Club captures King Crimson on 13 October 1972 in Frankfurt, West Germany, the first time the Larks' Tongues in Aspic line-up played in front of an audience. It came out through the King Crimson Collector's Club in May 2002, with liner notes by the band's official biographer, Sid Smith.
The concert is built around four improvised pieces. One of them later turned into "Fallen Angel", which appeared on Red in 1974, so you can hear an idea taking shape before it reached a studio album. The other three, "Zoom", "Zoom Zoom" and "Z'Zoom", share their names with the THRAK tracks "VROOOM", "VROOOM VROOOM" and "B'Boom", a nod across more than two decades. Four days after Frankfurt the band appeared on German TV's Beat Club, a show released in 1999 as The Beat Club, Bremen.
