Live in Heidelberg – March 29, 1974 is a concert recording by King Crimson, released in July 2005 in the UK and Europe on Discipline Global Mobile. It captures the band in 1974, the year they put out Starless and Bible Black and Red.
At that point the group had been stripped back to a core trio of Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford and John Wetton. Their sound leaned on European free improvisation and avant-garde classical structures, a long way from the debut's early progressive rock. For anyone who loves Larks' Tongues in Aspic and the records that followed, it is a chance to hear that line-up on stage shortly before Fripp disbanded the group.
