Houses of the Molé is Ministry's ninth studio album, released on 21 June 2004. It follows Animositisomina from the previous year and sits between that record and Rio Grande Blood in the band's run of heavier, guitar-driven industrial metal. Its genre tags take in thrash and heavy metal as well as industrial, which gives a fair idea of the weight on offer.

The line-up is what makes it a notable chapter. Bassist and longtime collaborator Paul Barker is absent, the first time that has happened on a Ministry album since Twitch in 1986. Guitarist Mike Scaccia returns for the first time since Filth Pig in 1996, bringing his playing back into the band's sound. For anyone tracing how Ministry changed shape in the 2000s, this is a useful record to hear.
