Every Day Is Halloween: Greatest Tricks
Every Day Is Halloween: Greatest Tricks is a compilation and remix album from Ministry, released on 5 October 2010 on Cleopatra. It sits in the industrial metal and thrash metal camp, and it turns up under a few different names. It has also been issued as Every Day Is Halloween: The Anthology, and as Undercover, which is credited to Ministry and Co-Conspirators and carries a different track list.
The interest here is in the choice of material. The songs were first recorded by AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Amy Winehouse, so this is Ministry going through other people's work rather than their own. It fits with the covers records they put out around the same time, Cover Up in 2008 and Undercover in 2010. If you like hearing how a band known for harsh, abrasive guitars handles familiar rock and soul songs, it's worth a listen.
