Cover Up
Cover Up is a collection of cover versions from Ministry, credited on the sleeve to Ministry and Co-Conspirators. It came out on 1 April 2008 through TKO Records and sits between The Last Sucker and Undercover in the band's run of studio albums. It was meant to be the final Ministry release before a break that lasted from 2008 to 2011.
Three of the songs had already surfaced elsewhere: "Roadhouse Blues", "Lay Lady Lay" and "Supernaut". Hearing them rebuilt in Ministry's industrial metal and thrash-leaning style is much of the fun, since these are songs most rock fans know well, pushed somewhere harsher. Its version of "Under My Thumb" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance, though Metallica's "My Apocalypse" took the award. It's an odd, entertaining footnote to the band's story.
