Three Men and a Baby

Three Men and a Baby is a collaboration between Melvins and Mike Kunka, released on 1 April 2016 on Sub Pop. It sits in the band's long run of studio albums, arriving between Hold It In and Basses Loaded, and falls within the doom and sludge metal territory they have worked in for decades.

The record has an unusual history. Tim Green recorded most of it in 1999, but work stalled for more than ten years. It was finally completed in 2015, with Toshi Kasai, a longtime Melvins associate, engineering and mixing. That makes it a rare chance to hear a collaboration from the end of the 1990s, finished and released well over a decade later, and a curious detour for anyone following the band's sprawling catalogue.
