King Buzzo

King Buzzo is a 1992 EP released through Boner Records on 31 July 1992, and it is essentially a solo outing from Melvins guitarist Buzz Osborne. He brought in Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, who is credited as "Dale Nixon", a nod to the name Greg Ginn used when he played bass on Black Flag's My War. The sleeve parodies the cover of Gene Simmons' 1978 solo record.

It began as a joke about Kiss-style solo albums that, in Osborne's words, got out of control. One track, "Skeeter", doesn't feature Osborne at all. It is a remix of "Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson", which Grohl recorded for his Pocketwatch solo album and which is named for the bassist in his old band Scream. It's a curious side door into the Melvins' world, and a neat snapshot of two friends in the early 1990s having fun.
