Neither Here nor There
Neither Here nor There is a retrospective artbook from the Melvins, put out by Ipecac Recordings on 9 March 2004 to mark the band's twentieth anniversary. It runs to 228 pages of artwork, photographs, essays, stories and liner notes, with contributions from Dalek, Camille Rose Garcia, Alex Grey, Tom Hazelmyer, Adam Jones, Frank Kozik, Mackie Osborne, Greg Werckman and the late Stanisław Szukalski, among many others.
Tucked in with the book is a best-of CD whose tracks were chosen by the band themselves, so it works as a guided tour of their sludge metal catalogue as well as a piece of visual history. It came in a limited hardcover edition and a softcover edition, and it has since gone out of print, so it is one for collectors and devoted fans to hunt down.
