Melvins / Isis
Melvins / Isis is a split EP on Hydra Head Records, with each band contributing two tracks. It came out on 13 July 2010, and it landed after Isis had announced they were calling it a day. The Melvins later supported Isis on several dates of their farewell tour.
Isis offer "Way Through Woven Branches" and "Pliable Foe", both recorded during the Wavering Radiant sessions. The first had only appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of that album, while the second is exclusive here. The Melvins rework material from The Bride Screamed Murder, in keeping with their trickster streak. Pitchfork's Jess Harvell found Isis rather restrained, but welcomed the Melvins' punchy grooves, especially on "I'll Finish You Off".
