Never Breathe What You Can’t See

Never Breathe What You Can't See is a collaboration between the Melvins and Jello Biafra, released on 19 October 2004 through Alternative Tentacles. It arrived in the same year as Pigs of the Roman Empire and sits in the middle of a busy stretch for the band, which was releasing records at a rapid rate in the early 2000s.

The record pairs the Melvins' heavy, alternative-leaning sound with a hardcore punk sensibility, and the label choice fits the mix. It also has a second life: songs from the same sessions, along with remixes of four tracks, went into the follow-up, Sieg Howdy!, in 2005. If you want to hear how the two records fit together, this is the place to start.
