Chaos As Usual
Chaos As Usual is an EP by Melvins, released in 2015 on Amphetamine Reptile Records. It arrived in the middle of one of the most prolific stretches in the band's long career, sitting between Hold It In in 2014 and Three Men and a Baby and Basses Loaded, both of which followed in 2016.
For anyone tracing the band's story, it is a useful marker of how steadily they kept working long after their late-1980s beginnings with Gluey Porch Treatments. The Amphetamine Reptile label, with its noisy, abrasive reputation, makes a fitting home for a band that has never sat comfortably in any one place. It is a short release, best approached by fans already following the Melvins' output through the 2010s.
