Album
Ozma
Ozma is the second studio album from the Melvins, released in 1989 on Boner Records. It follows their 1987 debut, Gluey Porch Treatments, and sits early in a discography that would grow to dozens of studio records over the decades that followed.
The album was made after the band relocated to San Francisco, and it is the first Melvins record to feature Lori Black on bass guitar. That change in line-up makes it a notable stepping stone in their story. Its blend of alternative metal, grunge and sludge metal is a good place to hear the band at an early stage, before Bullhead arrived in 1991.
