Album
Pinkus Abortion Technician
Pinkus Abortion Technician is the 23rd album by the American rock band Melvins, released on 20 April 2018. It features two bass players: Steven McDonald, who is the band's ongoing bassist, and Jeff Pinkus, who drops in as an occasional addition to the low end. Pinkus has a writing credit on four of the album's five original songs.
The title nods to Locust Abortion Technician, the Butthole Surfers album that Pinkus played bass on, so it works as a bit of a tribute to his past as well as a billing for his role here. For anyone following the Melvins through their huge catalogue, it sits between A Walk with Love & Death in 2017 and Working With God in 2021, and it's a good chance to hear the band with a double dose of bass.
