Houdini
Houdini is the fifth studio album by the American band Melvins, released on 21 September 1993. It was their major label debut, arriving on Atlantic after their earlier records had come out through the independent label Boner Records. The sound sits in the sludge metal and grunge camp, and it landed in the middle of the band's long run of albums, between Lysol and Prick.
There are some good talking points here. Kurt Cobain of Nirvana is credited as co-producer alongside the band on six tracks, and he also plays guitar on "Sky Pup" and percussion on "Spread Eagle Beagle". The band cover Kiss's 1974 song "Goin' Blind", and "Night Goat" partly re-records a track they had released as a single in 1992. "Hooch", "Lizzy" and "Honey Bucket" were issued as singles, each with a music video.
