Album
Sieg Howdy!
Sieg Howdy! is the second record Jello Biafra made with the Melvins, released on 26 September 2005 through Alternative Tentacles. It gathers songs left over from the sessions for their first collaboration, Never Breathe What You Can't See, and adds remixes of four tracks from that album. It sits among the Melvins' prolific mid-2000s output, as the follow-up to that 2004 meeting of two punk and hardcore veterans.
The opening cover of Alice Cooper's "Halo of Flies" carries some history: Biafra first heard the Melvins play it when he saw them live. Elsewhere, "California über alles" returns with new Biafra lyrics about the recall campaign that put Arnold Schwarzenegger in the governor's office, while "Those Dumb Punk Kids (Will Buy Anything)" aims his criticism at his former Dead Kennedys bandmates. The remix of "Enchanted Thoughtfist" also reunites him with Al Jourgensen of Ministry, his partner in Lard.
