Screaming Life / Fopp
Screaming Life/Fopp gathers Soundgarden's two debut EPs, Screaming Life and Fopp, into a single release, with both running in full. It came out through Sub Pop Records in May 1990, which makes it a handy way to hear where the band began.
The compilation arrived after Ultramega OK and Louder Than Love, so it works as a look back at their earliest recordings on the Seattle label that first championed them. Sub Pop remastered and reissued it in November 2013, giving those early tracks a fresh polish for listeners who came to the band through Badmotorfinger or Superunknown and wanted to trace the story back to its roots.
