God Is Alone
God Is Alone is an EP by My Dying Bride, released on 11 May 1991 through Listenable Records. It came out in the band's first year of existence, when the Bradford group, formed in 1990, were still finding their feet in a blend of death metal and death-doom.
It sits at the very start of a long career that has since taken in fifteen studio albums, beginning with As the Flower Withers in 1992. My Dying Bride would go on to stand alongside Anathema and Paradise Lost as part of "The Peaceville Three", the bands who helped shape death-doom and gothic metal in the early 1990s. For anyone tracing how that sound began, this early release is a good place to start.
