I Am the Bloody Earth
I Am the Bloody Earth is an EP by My Dying Bride, released on 24 January 1994 through Peaceville. It is filed under death metal and death-doom, the sound the Bradford band helped to shape in the early 1990s.
It arrived between two key moments in their story: after the albums As the Flower Withers (1992) and Turn Loose the Swans (1993), and before The Angel and the Dark River (1995). The band had formed in 1990 and, alongside Anathema and Paradise Lost, made up the so-called Peaceville Three, all signed to the same label. For anyone tracing how My Dying Bride developed in those early years, this short release is a useful stop between the full-length records.
