Album
For Lies I Sire
For Lies I Sire is the tenth studio album by English doom metal band My Dying Bride, released on 23 March 2009 through Peaceville. It was recorded in September 2008 at Futureworks Studio in Manchester, and it followed A Line of Deathless Kings from 2006. A US release came a month later, on 21 April.
The record marks a change in the band's line-up. Keyboardist Sarah Stanton, who had joined in 2004 for Songs of Darkness, Words of Light, was no longer involved. In her place came Katie Stone, whose violin brought a sound the band had not used on an album since Like Gods of the Sun in 1996. For listeners who love the group's mournful string-laced side, that return of the violin is the main reason to seek this one out.
