Resurrection Macabre

Resurrection Macabre is the fifth studio album by Pestilence, the Dutch death metal band. It came out on 16 March 2009 through Mascot Records. It was the group's first record of new material since Spheres in 1993, a gap of sixteen years, and the title nods to that return from the dead.

For anyone who followed the band through its early albums, from Malleus Maleficarum in 1988 to Spheres, this is the record where the story picks up again. It also leads into Doctrine in 2011 and the run of albums that followed. Alongside the new songs, the release includes re-recordings of earlier Pestilence tracks as bonus material, so it works as a way to hear the band's past and present side by side.
