Consuming Impulse is the second album by Pestilence, the Dutch death metal band, and it came out on Roadracer Records on 25 December 1989. It follows Malleus Maleficarum from 1988 and sits at a turning point in the group's early story. It was the first Pestilence record with guitarist Patrick Uterwijk, and the last to feature vocalist and live bassist Martin van Drunen. It was also the last on which Patrick Mameli recorded the bass parts.

The album has earned a reputation as a cult favourite, and Decibel reviewed it warmly in that light. "Out of the Body" is a fan favourite and a good place to start. Roadrunner Records later paired the album with Testimony of the Ancients in its Two from the Vault reissue series, which makes it easy to hear the band's next step alongside it.
