Slow, Deep and Hard
Slow, Deep and Hard is the debut studio album from American band Type O Negative, released through Roadracer Records in June 1991. It began life under a different title, None More Negative, as a 1990 demo recorded when the group still went by the name Repulsion. The finished record is where the band first set out their stall.
The material mixes doom metal, crossover thrash and gothic metal, so the pace lurches between crawling heaviness and sudden aggression. It sits at the start of a run of seven studio albums that would take in The Origin of the Feces, Bloody Kisses and October Rust. For anyone who knows the band's later, more polished work, it is worth hearing as the rawer starting point.
