Life Is Killing Me
Life Is Killing Me is the sixth studio album by Type O Negative, released in June 2003. It was the last record the gothic metal band made for Roadrunner Records, and it came between World Coming Down and the band's final album, Dead Again.
The title says it all. Frontman Peter Steele wrote the songs while struggling with a bleak outlook and mental illness, and the lyrics deal with troubled relationships and the illness and death of his parents. Critics were kind to it and noted a more melodic sound than on the band's earlier records. It reached No. 39 on the US Billboard 200, and "I Don't Wanna Be Me" was issued as a promotional single with its own video. It suits listeners who like their heaviness mixed with a darker, more personal edge.
