The Best of Type O Negative
The Best of Type O Negative is a compilation gathering the band's work for Roadrunner Records, issued on 12 September 2006. It arrived without the band's involvement, as they had by then moved to SPV Records. It appeared alongside similar best-of collections from Sepultura, Fear Factory and Ill Niño.
The track selection leaves out The Origin of the Feces and the newer material from The Least Worst Of. The real draw for devoted fans is the cover of Deep Purple's "Highway Star", which turns up on no other Type O Negative release. The only other place it had appeared was the NASCAR: Crank It Up compilation. Gothic and doom metal listeners who like to collect the odd corners of the band's catalogue will want it for that track alone.
