Fighting is the fifth studio album by the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, released on 12 September 1975 on Vertigo. After four records that had not quite pinned down who they were, this is where the band found a sound that was unmistakably theirs.

The key was the twin guitars of Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson, weaving hard rock together with folk, pop and rhythm and blues. It was also the first Thin Lizzy album to chart in the UK, reaching No. 60. Just as importantly, it laid the groundwork for the commercial breakthrough of its follow-up, Jailbreak. If you want to hear a great band settling into its identity, just before the wider world caught on, Fighting is the place to start.
