Fly by Night is the second studio album by the Canadian band Rush, released on 14 February 1975 on Mercury Records. It is the record where the group began to move beyond the straightforward hard rock of their debut, and the first to show the progressive leanings they would become known for.

The big change was behind the kit. Neil Peart joined as drummer, replacing original member John Rutsey the previous summer, just before the band's first North American tour. He also took over as main lyricist, bringing fantastical and philosophical themes that sat a long way from the debut's simpler approach. The album reached No. 9 in Canada, though it stalled at No. 113 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. The title track was re-released as a single in 1976 and did moderately well. It is a fascinating first look at the Rush that followed.
