Renegade
Renegade is the eleventh studio album by the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, released on 20 November 1981 through Phonogram. It sits between Chinatown and the band's final studio record, Thunder and Lightning, and it marks a change in the line-up: keyboard player Darren Wharton, who had appeared with them before, was now credited as a permanent member, making the group a five-piece.
Wharton co-wrote the opening track, "Angel of Death", though his picture was left off the sleeve. The record is also the second and last to feature guitarist Snowy White, who by his own admission was happier playing blues than heavy rock. He left by mutual agreement the following year and had a hit single in 1983 with "Bird of Paradise". Worth hearing for a band in transition, with a new sound taking shape around the keyboards. A remastered edition with five bonus tracks followed on 23 September 2013.
