Exitivm

Exitivm, stylised on the sleeve and spelled Exitium elsewhere, is the ninth studio album by Pestilence, the Dutch death metal band whose catalogue stretches back to Malleus Maleficarum in 1988. It came out on 25 June 2021 through Agonia Records, and it follows Hadeon from 2018. The record blends death metal with technical and progressive leanings, in keeping with the direction the band took from Spheres onwards.

The line-up shifted around it. Septimiu Hărşan had to step away because of pandemic restrictions, and Michiel van der Plicht, known from God Dethroned and Carach Angren, took his place and has since become a full-time member. This is also the only Pestilence album to feature bassist Joost van der Graaf and guitarist Rutger van Noordenburg, which makes it a snapshot of a particular moment for the band. Fans following the group's later chapters will want to hear it.
