Meisterwerk 2
Meisterwerk 2 is a compilation from the English doom metal band My Dying Bride, released on 13 June 2001 through Peaceville. It gathers tracks from their albums alongside rare recordings, which makes it a handy way into the band's darker corners as well as a treat for those who already know the records.
It is the companion to Meisterwerk 1, which arrived the year before, and it sits among five compilations the band have put out. Trinity came first in 1995, then the first Meisterwerk, followed by this one. Anti-Diluvian Chronicles appeared in 2005 and Meisterwerk 3 in 2016. By this point the band had already released a run of studio albums since 1992, so the collection works as a look back over a busy first decade.
