My Dying Bride

My Dying Bride are an English doom metal band who formed in Bradford in 1990. Alongside Anathema and Paradise Lost, they helped shape death-doom and gothic metal in the early 1990s. The three were all signed to Peaceville Records at the time, and became known as "The Peaceville Three".

Their sound sits across doom, death-doom and gothic metal, and they have kept going ever since, releasing fifteen studio albums from As the Flower Withers in 1992 to A Mortal Binding in 2024. The records fans return to most are The Angel and the Dark River, Turn Loose the Swans, Like Gods of the Sun and that debut. If you enjoy Katatonia, Opeth or Tiamat, this is a good place to start.
