A Line of Deathless Kings
A Line of Deathless Kings is the ninth studio album by English doom metal band My Dying Bride, released on 9 October 2006 through Peaceville. It followed Songs of Darkness, Words of Light from 2004 and arrived after the EP Deeper Down, which came out on 18 September 2006. The video for that title track, directed by Charlie Granberg, who also made Katatonia's "My Twin" and "Deliberation" clips, is included on the CD version. Matthew Vickerstaff created the artwork.
It is also a record of change within the band. John Bennett of the Prophecy stood in on drums after Shaun Steels left because of a recurring leg injury, and this is the only album he played on. Dan Mullins became the permanent drummer afterwards, and Lena Abé replaced Adrian Jackson on bass. The limited edition comes in a hard clamshell case with a double-sided poster and five postcards of the full-time members.
