Immortalis
Immortalis is the fourteenth studio album by Overkill, released in October 2007 on Bodog Music. It follows Killbox 13 and ReliXIV, and the title carries on the band's habit of numerical wordplay, working as a pun on "Immortal15". It sits in the groove and thrash metal vein the band had been working for years.
It also marks a change behind the kit, as the first Overkill studio record to feature drummer Ron Lipnicki, who joined shortly after ReliXIV came out in 2005. For anyone following the band's long run of albums, it is the entry that introduces that new rhythmic engine, and it leads straight into Ironbound in 2010. Its first week in the US brought just over 2,800 copies, and the total there passed 15,000 by 2009.
