Prime Evil
Prime Evil is the sixth studio album by the British band Venom, released on 9 October 1989 through N.E.W Musidisc. It sits in the heavy metal and thrash metal camp, and it follows Calm Before the Storm from 1987 in the group's run of records that began with Welcome to Hell in 1981.
The big story here is the change at the front. Tony Dolan, previously the bassist and vocalist with Atomkraft, steps in for Conrad "Cronos" Lant as both a member and a composer. This is the first of three albums made with him, with Temples of Ice and The Waste Lands to follow. If you only know Venom through the Cronos years, it is the place to hear how the band sounded with a new voice and a new songwriter in the ranks.
