From the Very Depths
From the Very Depths is an album by the English band Venom, released in January 2015 through Spinefarm Records in the US. It sits in the heavy metal and thrash metal camp, the territory the band have worked in since their debut, Welcome to Hell, arrived in 1981.
It follows Fallen Angels from 2011 and comes before Storm the Gates in 2018, so it belongs to the later stretch of a discography that began with Welcome to Hell and Black Metal in the early 1980s. For anyone who knows Venom from those first records, it is a chance to hear how the band sounded more than three decades on, still working in the same two genres.
