Alive and Well is Quiet Riot's ninth studio album, released on 23 March 1999 on Deadline Records. It arrived after the band brought back the line-up from their Metal Health days: singer Kevin DuBrow, bassist Rudy Sarzo, guitarist Carlos Cavazo and drummer Frankie Banali. That reunion makes it something of a homecoming after the records that followed their early-eighties peak.

The running order mixes old and new. There are eight fresh songs, alongside re-recorded versions of six of the band's best-known tracks, among them "Cum On Feel The Noize", "Metal Health" and "Mama Weer All Crazee Now". They also tackle AC/DC's "Highway to Hell", which had already appeared on the tribute album Thunderbolt: A Tribute To AC/DC. Another curiosity is "Slam Dunk", written by DuBrow and Perris, which Pretty Boy Floyd first recorded in 1991 for the film Switch. It's a handy way to hear the classic line-up back together.
