Metal Health
Metal Health is the third studio album by Quiet Riot, a Los Angeles-linked American band working in heavy metal, hard rock and glam metal. It came out on 28 February 1983 through Pasha Records, and it was the first of their records to get a worldwide release. It also introduced guitarist Carlos Cavazo and drummer Frankie Banali to the line-up. Two singles came from it: the title track and a cover of Slade's "Cum On Feel the Noize".
The album's place in the story is its chart run. In November 1983 it became the first heavy metal album to reach number one on the Billboard 200, taking over from The Police's Synchronicity. It went on to sell more than ten million copies worldwide, six times platinum in the US. Some regard it as the record that opened the door for hair metal's boom in the years that followed, and later lists have kept it in the conversation.
