Winners Take All
Winners Take All is a compilation from Quiet Riot, issued in 1992 through CBS Special Products. It gathers material from a band that, by then, had been through plenty of upheaval since forming in Los Angeles in 1973 around guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Kelly Garni and vocalist Kevin DuBrow.
It arrived nine years after Metal Health, the 1983 album that became the first heavy metal record to top the Billboard album chart. That record's hits, including "Cum On Feel the Noize", a cover of the Slade song, and "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)", came from the line-up of DuBrow, Carlos Cavazo, Rudy Sarzo and Frankie Banali. For anyone who wants a compact way into the band's story ahead of their next studio album, Terrified, in 1993, this is a handy place to begin.
