ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ
ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ, better known as Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs, is Ministry's fifth studio album, released on 14 July 1992 by Sire Records. Al Jourgensen and bassist Paul Barker produced it, recording in Chicago and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, over more than a year. The title comes from Aleister Crowley's The Book of Lies, after an earlier idea, The Tapes of Wrath, was dropped.
It follows The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste, and the pressure to deliver was heavy while tensions and substance abuse grew within the band. The result mixes industrial metal with speed metal, rockabilly and psychobilly, with lyrics on social, political and religious themes. Mike Scaccia played a significant part for the first time. "Jesus Built My Hotrod", "N.W.O." and "Just One Fix" were the singles, and it remains Ministry's biggest seller, certified platinum in the US.
