Filth Pig
Filth Pig is the sixth studio album by Ministry, the American industrial metal band led by Al Jourgensen. It came out on 30 January 1996 on Warner Bros. Records, and it follows ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ in the band's run of studio albums. The title is said to trace back to a remark in the British Houses of Parliament, where MP Teddy Taylor called Jourgensen a "filthy pig" over his onstage theatrics.
It is a record that split opinion. Reviewers reacted badly and the fanbase was sharply divided, while sales fell short of the platinum success of Psalm 69. Even so, it reached the highest chart positions Ministry have ever achieved, including their best showing in the US. It is also the last album to feature guitarist Mike Scaccia until Houses of the Molé in 2004, which makes it a useful marker in the band's story, and a good one to hear if you want to judge a divisive record for yourself.
