Moral Hygiene

Moral Hygiene is Ministry's fifteenth studio album, released on 1 October 2021 through Nuclear Blast. It followed AmeriKKKant from 2018 and spent about three years in production, a long stretch even for a band that has never been in a hurry to tidy up its noise. It was the first Ministry record to feature bassist Paul D'Amour, previously with Tool, who joined in 2019. It was also the first to include a cover version since Relapse in 2012.

The guest list is a good reason to seek it out. Billy Morrison plays guitar, and former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson appears alongside Arabian Prince, once of N.W.A. Jello Biafra, Al Jourgensen's old bandmate from Lard, also turns up. It is the first Ministry album since Rio Grande Blood in 2006 without guitarist Sin Quirin, who left in March 2021. For anyone tracing the industrial metal side of Jourgensen's career, it's a late chapter with a few surprises.
