In the Court of the Dragon
In the Court of the Dragon is Trivium's tenth studio album, released on 8 October 2021 through Roadrunner Records. Josh Wilbur produced it, and it arrived a year after What the Dead Men Say, keeping the American band's run of records going into its third decade. The sound sits across melodic metalcore, thrash and progressive metal, the mix that has defined Trivium since the Ascendancy days.
It is also the last studio album to feature drummer Alex Bent, who left the band in early October 2025. For anyone tracing the group's story, it marks the close of one line-up chapter, before Crown in the Grave followed in 2026. If you want to hear how Trivium sounded in the early 2020s, with Wilbur at the desk and Bent behind the kit, this is the place to start.
