In Waves
In Waves is the fifth studio album by Trivium, the American heavy metal band whose catalogue also takes in Ascendancy, The Crusade and Shogun. It came out in August 2011 on Roadrunner Records, with Colin Richardson and Martyn "Ginge" Ford sharing production duties. It is filed under metalcore, and it follows Shogun from 2008 in the band's run of studio records.
For anyone tracing Trivium's story, it is the record that sits between that 2008 album and Vengeance Falls in 2013. Richardson's name on the credits is a good reason to pay attention to how the band sounds here, and it makes the album a useful stop for listeners who want to hear how the group's mid-career work took shape.
