TKOL RMX 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
TKOL RMX 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 is a remix compilation built from Radiohead's 2011 album The King of Limbs. Rather than keep the songs as they were, the band handed them to other artists, hoping the music would "mutate" in new hands. The electronic-leaning line-up includes Jamie xx, Nathan Fake, Four Tet, Caribou, Modeselektor, Mark Pritchard and SBTRKT.
It came out in September 2011, following the parent album by only a matter of months, and sits as a companion piece to the band's eighth studio record, before A Moon Shaped Pool. Most of the remixes also appeared as singles along the way. If you enjoy hearing familiar Radiohead material pulled apart and rebuilt by producers from the club and electronica scene, it is well worth a listen, and it earned mainly positive reviews.
