Screaming Bloody Murder
Screaming Bloody Murder is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Sum 41, released in March 2011 on Island Records. It arrived after a run of delays and was the second record produced by frontman Deryck Whibley. It was also the first of the band's albums to come out without Aquarius Records, which they had left in 2010, and the last for Island before their contract with the major label was fulfilled in 2016.
It matters in the band's story as the final album with original drummer Steve Jocz, who announced his departure in April 2013. Guitarist Tom Thacker had joined by then and co-wrote the title track, though Whibley recorded all the guitars himself. Thacker still appears in the booklet photos. Reviews were mixed, but it is a revealing snapshot of a band in transition, worth hearing for that reason alone.
