13 Voices
13 Voices is the sixth studio album by the Canadian band Sum 41, released on 7 October 2016. It was the first of two records they made for the independent label Hopeless Records, which they signed to that May to put out what had been a crowd-funded project. Coming after Screaming Bloody Murder in 2011, it sits at a turning point in the band's story.
The line-up is the real talking point. Dave "Brownsound" Baksh returns on lead guitar after leaving in 2006 and coming back in 2015. Tom Thacker makes his first appearance on a Sum 41 record, and Frank Zummo takes over the drum stool from original drummer Steve Jocz. It is also the first time the band record as a five-piece, so it is well worth hearing for how that reshaped group sounds, and it leads straight into Order in Decline in 2019.
