NOFX
NOFX's self-titled EP came out on 2 August 2011 through Fat Wreck Chords. It is made up almost entirely of cover versions of hardcore punk songs, a sideways step for a band better known for its own tunes and its irreverent streak.
The idea was first announced in 2009, before the band released its eleventh studio album, Coaster. The plan then was a 10" vinyl release only, but the EP also appeared on 7", 12" and picture disc, all with the same track listing. It sits between Coaster and 2012's Self/Entitled, and makes a handy detour for anyone who likes hearing a long-running punk band pay tribute to the hardcore records behind its own sound.
