So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes is NOFX's seventh studio album, released on 21 October 1997 through Epitaph. It arrived in the United States first, with a European release following in early November. The title is a playful nod to Douglas Adams, and the record sits between Heavy Petting Zoo and Pump Up the Valuum in the band's run of studio albums.

For anyone who first met NOFX through Punk in Drublic, this is a good next stop. The material sits in the skate punk and punk rock camp, with ska flavours in the mix. It captures the band in the late nineties, working with the Epitaph label that had become their home.
