Symbol of Life is the ninth studio album by the British gothic metal band Paradise Lost, released in 2002. It followed Believe in Nothing from 2001 and came three years after Host, and it was the last record to feature drummer Lee Morris.

Two songs written for the sessions, "I Can Hate You" and "Deus", were left off the album. They never appeared on any reissue, but fans can track them down on the digipak edition of the "Erased" single, which also had a music video. For anyone following the band's story through the early 2000s, this is the record that closes one chapter of the line-up before the self-titled album of 2005.
