Album
Tragic Idol
Tragic Idol is the thirteenth studio album by Paradise Lost, the British gothic metal band, released on 18 April 2012. It was the first of their studio records to feature Adrian Erlandsson on drums, who had joined in 2009, and it followed Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us. Jens Bogren produced it.
Guitarist Gregor Mackintosh described the record as leaning on classic doom and classic metal, more melodic than its predecessor yet just as heavy, with plenty of guitar solos and melodies. The band toured the UK in support of it alongside Insomnium. "The Last Fallen Saviour" was written for these sessions but first appeared on a free Decibel flexi disc, later turning up on the 2013 rarities set Tragic Illusion 25.
